Remembering Alex Buzo
In a special tribute hosted by Virginia Trioli, ABC TV remembers the life and work of one of Australia's greatest playwrights, Alex Buzo. The Sydney-based playwright and author died in August 2006 after a long fight with cancer.
Alex Buzo was a prime mover in the renaissance of Australian theatre in the late 60s, becoming a household name when the actors in his play Norm and Ahmed were arrested on obscenity charges. Provocative and prolific, Buzo's plays were staged in Australia and overseas throughout the 1970s and 80s.
