Quantum - Canary in the Lake
Like many Australians, the average oyster likes living by the sea and having a good drink. Every hour it sucks in an average of ten litres of water, as it sieves for it's food.
What they drink is what they get ... stormwater, acid run-off, heavy metals, pesticides, human and animal faeces.
Last year more than 400 people come down with Hepatitis A after eating oysters from Wallace Lake on the mid NSW coast... but it wasn't the first time oysters have made us sick.
