After World War I, a grateful nation granted settlement blocks to tens-of-thousands of returned Australian soldiers. But not the 800 indigenous ex-servicemen who also fought for their country. Despite their service, Australia remained deeply divided by colour, and only a handful were given land. The injustice is still felt today by their descendants.
