Head First

From sex tapes to Aussies in Syria and so much more, Head First is a series about everyday Australians living extraordinary lives in hidden worlds.
Welcome to the world of Internet love scams, celebrity sex tapes, Aussie freedom fighters, people born in the wrong bodies, and teens living under the Intervention. Armed with a mischievous sense of humour and a willingness to get involved in the action, Sabour Bradley wants to take you inside those worlds, and the only way to do that is to dive in...Head First.
Ep 1 - Social Monster
Sabour is fascinated by the modern day phenomenon of internet love scammers. Cyber criminals are fleecing vulnerable Australians of millions of dollars every month but the only person who seems to be doing anything about it is a Detective from the Queensland Fraud Squad. Sabour heads to Brisbane to meet Detective Superintendent Brian Hay who runs a victim support group for scam survivors. He is overwhelmed by the stories coming out of
the group and decides to meet up with three of the members in the coming days.
Ep 2 - Fame, Lies and Sex Tape
In an age when celebrity is more likely to come from infamy than talent, what does an ordinary person have to do to become famous? Sabour decides to find out by following a young fame wannabe from Brisbane, Skye Harper, in her struggle up the celebrity ladder.
Ep 3 - Lost in Syria
When Australian kickboxing champion Roger Abbas was killed in mysterious circumstances in Syria in late 2012, it set off a chain of stories in the national media about Australian citizens heading over there to take part in the war – either as humanitarians or ‘jihadists’. But why would born and bred Aussies like Roger want to put their lives on the line for a country they have no connection to? Sabour wants to find out by following one of these so called ‘Jihadists’ across to Syria. He gets his wish when he meets Sonya
Ep 4 - The Wrong Body
What happens when you’re born in the wrong body? Biological sex doesn’t always match up with ‘brain sex’ and when that happens, you either spend your life in torment or you make the decision to transition and become the person you know you are inside. Sabour sets out to get inside the Trans world but he finds it difficult to get people to talk to him on camera because it’s such a sensitive subject in Australia. So he heads off to the USA to meet a group of Trans teens, including teenage singing sensation and activist, Ryan Cassata.
Ep 5 - The Lost Boys
Sabour heads to Arnhem Land to spend two weeks in a small town called Yirrkala living completely under the rules of the Intervention. Five years after it was put into effect, Sabour wants to find out what it’s like to live under the Intervention, by staying in a tent on a beach in the community. On his first night, a suicide attempt by a young future leader shocks him to his core. Sabour starts asking around and finds out that this is a common thing amongst boys in the community. One grandmother puts it simply; “there are very few families in Yirrkala who haven’t been touched by the death of a young man to suicide.”
