Compass - Saving Claymore

Worried residents of Sydney's fringe suburb Claymore join together to regain the streets from troubling influences. Most of us would feel that we are fortunate enough to be relatively free of the social problems that beset communities in the developing world and that; in fact, we should lead the way in helping those places combat social disintegration.
This program turns that thought right on its head, as a small band of dedicated facilitators apply lessons learned from some of the poorest communities in the developing world to a struggling Australian outer suburban community.
At Claymore in the Campbelltown region of Sydney's South West, the local community has reached within, finding their voice to claim a share of social justice and a richer community life. The achievements are all the more remarkable given Claymore's troubled history.
