Compass - Children of Abraham
Children of Abraham explores the mystical streams within the three "religions of the Book" (Judaism, Christianity and Islam). Within their traditions these mystical streams have often been marginalised, but share many similarities in their vision of the Divine.
The mystical impulse that seeks direct experience of God has been a constant yet marginalised stream within the great religious "Book Traditions" of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Far from the hostile divisiveness found at the fundamentalist extremes of these religious traditions, Jewish Kabbalah, Christian mysticism and the Sufi movement of Islam share much in common in their notions of the divine and their insistence on the interconnectedness of all creation. In the wake of September 11, Compass explores the ideas of mystics from the three traditions, all "Children of Abraham".
