Australian Story - Half a Million Acres/Return to Wooleen
This program is an epic story of droughts and flooding rains and a young pastoralist's dream to restore his beloved landscape. David Pollock was just twenty-seven when his father chose him ahead of his older brother to take over the family's pastoral lease in outback Western Australia.
Originally the size of a small town, Wooleen station, like many other stations in the southern rangelands, had fallen on hard times as over-grazing and drought decimated the landscape. David's radical plans to remove all the stock from the property shocked his neighbours.
The project may well have failed but for the unexpected arrival of a young woman in her gap year from Melbourne. This is the story of Frances Jones and David Pollock and their property Wooleen.
This program is released for non theatrical use within educational, government and business organisations. Additional payments under a Screenrights licence are not required. Please contact us for Exhibition or Streaming Licences.
