ABC DVD wins two awards at this year's AHEDA ceremony
Australian Home Entertainment Distributors Association recognises ABC’s sales and marketing campaigns for ‘The Wiggles: Apples & Bananas’ and ‘Ja’mie Private School Girl’.
Sydney, Australia; Monday, 23rd March 2015: ABC DVD were last Friday honoured to receive not one, but two industry awards from the Australian Home Entertainment Distributors Association (AHEDA), recognising their marketing and sales campaigns for the DVD releases of both The Wiggles: Apples & Bananas and Chris Lilley’s Ja’mie Private School Girl.
The Wiggles: Apples & Banana’s won the ‘Best Marketing Campaign of the Year’ Award for ‘Children’s Direct to Home Entertainment Title’, beating out both Peppa Pig: A Christmas Compilation and Play Along with Sam.
Chris Lilley’s hilarious high school send-up series Ja’mie Private School Girl was also recognised for its incredible sales success, winning ‘Australian TV Release of the Year’ in the ‘Highest Selling Title’ category.
“This is a fantastic result and a great acknowledgment from the industry on the innovative marketing carried out by both the ABC and our distribution partner Roadshow Entertainment on these two DVD releases,” said Jessica Ellis, Head of ABC Video Entertainment & Distribution. “We’re very proud to be recognised by AHEDA twice in one night and look forward to further reaffirming our position as Australia’s most revered distributor in the year ahead.”
The AHEDA Awards are a yearly ceremony honouring the year’s best marketing and sales campaigns across the Australian home entertainment industry.
This year’s awards were hosted by comedian David Hughes, with representatives from Roadshow Entertainment, The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros. Entertainment Australia, Madman Entertainment, eOne, 20th Century Fox and Universal Sony Pictures Home Entertainment amongst those in attendance vying for one of the industry body’s prestigious awards.
