ONE KID WITH A STACK OF CUPS TAKES ON THE WORLD

A rollercoaster ride through the International Sports Stacking Tournament held in Florida, Stackorama! follows 15-year-old Jaydyn Coggins, the best cup stacker in the country, as he travels to the Orlando World Championships for a shot at his dreams.

In the fierce and largely hidden world of sport stacking, thousands of teenagers dream of becoming the fastest. Tight-knit online communities practice obsessively, anoint idols, foster outlandish dreams, and generate stomach-churning hype as national and international tournaments loom. The pressure of sport stacking is almost unlike anything else – with events that take literally less than 1.5 seconds to complete, and no chance to recover from even the slightest mistake.

Jaydyn, a teenager from whose love for stacking is only rivalled by his passion for basketball, is one of the unlikely sport’s champions. His ability is legendary – and as he enters high school, he is the best sport stacker nationally. By the time Jaydyn is 15, he’s one of the very best in the world.

Jaydyn’s family are dedicated to helping him find international success in this unusual sport and are with him every step of the way. But his journey is dogged by rivalries, a surprise de-selection from the Australian team, financial pressures, and an ever-wavering sense of self confidence. And, finally, when he’s standing at the competition table – with just a few seconds to make a winning move or lose the World Champion title – he’s alone.

Stackorama! captures the most important moment in one kid’s life, and all the people and pressures that he carries with him as he strives to live out his dream. Rich with inclusion and social justice themes, it follows the ‘hero’s journey’ of one young boy with autism and his family who will do anything to open the world to him.

In ongoing news, Jaydyn Coggins wins the world championship – read about it here.
