A FASCINATING JOURNEY INTO LIFE BENEATH THE WAVES
The vast island of Australia bridges three of the world’s great oceans – the Indian, the Pacific and the Southern Ocean. Narrated by Aaron Pedersen (Mystery Road, Total Control, A Place to Call Home), this three-part series explores the incredible diversity of wildlife that depends on these oceans, and, as environmental changes heat the globe, how life is changing for everything beneath the waves and along the coasts. Using captivating underwater and aerial photography, Australia’s Oceans is a stunning ode to the seas that have literally shaped this ancient continent.
The Indian Ocean may be the smallest of the oceans, but it is the most complex - home to thousands of diverse species, it has a major impact on Australia’s climate. The largest in the world and occupying a third of the globe’s surface, the Pacific Ocean is also astoundingly diverse - from its depths to its surface, and from its temperate waters to its equatorial regions. The only ocean to stretch unbroken around the globe, the Southern Ocean reaches from Australia to encircle the Antarctic; its cold southernmost waters are both rich and productive.
Across three captivating episodes, Australia’s Oceans reveals the wonders of our surrounding seas and coastlines.
