Fisk set to charm at Series Mania France

Australian comedy series Fisk has been selected as a finalist in the Comedy competition at 2021 Series Mania France, to be held in late August.

Now one of the biggest events in Europe dedicated uniquely to television series, Series Mania France offers exclusive world premieres of the greatest international series on the big screen, giving audiences a heady cocktail of new program discoveries, parties and masterclasses with some of the most renowned personalities in the series world. At the same time, Series Mania welcomes 3,000 international professionals from the television industry; two key networking and business events that make up the Series Mania Digital Forum.

ABC network smash Fisk, written, directed by and starring Kitty Flanagan, will feature in the Comedy strand – one of several programs making up the very strong Australian contingent at the festival this year. “The diverse Australian line-up showcased this year at Series Mania is once again proof of the extraordinary creativity of the local writers, producers, commissioners and series makers. All the shows lining up this year are unique, original and on par with the best the world of fiction has to offer today,” says Francois-Pier Pelinard-Lambert, Series Mania International Artistic Advisor.

Kitty Flanagan brings her hilarious and singular voice to this comedy that affectionately channels the quirks of office life. Fisk sees her play a corporate contract lawyer forced to take a job at a shabby suburban law firm specialising in wills and probate. Producer Vincent Sheehan co-created the series with the comedian, with Tom Peterson co-directing and Penny Flanagan co-writing.

Fisk has been an outstanding success with Australian audiences on its ABC broadcast premiere, achieving audience figures that firmly placed it as the top rating comedy for 2021.

Series Mania competition winners will be announced within in early September 2021.
