Aftertaste chosen for Berlinale Series Selects

ABC’s latest comedy hit Aftertaste has been chosen as one out of fifteen series from around the globe to participate in the Berlinale Series Market as part of the Series Market Selects which highlights outstanding content with a strong market potential. The program is incredibly discerning and only the best of the best shows make the final cut

Berlinale is hosted within the 2021 European Film Market (EFM), where Aftertaste will have its international premiere to TV buyers on Friday 5 March 16:00 CET.

Representing worldwide sales for Aftertaste, ABC Commercial is optimistic that the series will resonate with international buyers and audiences.

In the lead-up to Berlinale & EFM, Aftertaste has also generated significant interest from key trade media - co-creators Julie De Fina and Matt Bate spoke with C21’s Drama Quarterly and Variety about how the #metoo movement shaped their story development, and who their hero really is.

Aftertaste, currently screening on ABC TV and iview, is an irreverent, laugh-out-loud series that follows an internationally renowned yet volatile celebrity chef, Easton West, whose spectacular fall from grace sees him return to his home town in the Adelaide Hills, where he endeavours to rebuild his career and restore his reputation, with the help of his talented, young, pastry-chef niece.
