ABC Commercial sees inflight programming take off

The pandemic’s effect on the travel industry hit hard and fast and ground the sale of content to inflight services to a halt. ABC Commercial transport sales representative Isabella Del Grande has firsthand experienced with the impact on the business. Her sales in the transport content sales arm shrank to a few loyal clients and the occasional domestic rail orders.

Over the past few months business has lifted and with a strong slate of content ready to go, Del Grande reports sales activity is increasing. Air India recently completed on a package of lifestyle and current affairs programming including Poh’s Kitchen and Catalyst: Building Greener Cities.

Closer to home Queensland Rail secured a raft of lifestyle episodes of Back Roads S6, Every Family Has A Secret S1 and Restoration Australia S3 but the biggest news comes from the first package of content to Virgin Australia which was completed in the first quarter included ABC’s new hit comedy Aftertaste.
