Sydney Film Festival's opening night film, 20,000 Days on Earth, features ABC footage

The film 20,000 Days on Earth had its Australian premiere on the opening night of the Sydney Film Festival at the State Theatre earlier this month. Directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, 20,000 Days on Earth is a unique documentary and a highly stylised imagination of musician and cultural icon Nick Cave's 20,000th day on Earth. We provided the filmmakers with footage from our archives including a gem from the long running current affairs series This Day Tonight - of Abigail - to help create this extraordinary portrait of singer/songwriter Cave.
