Anthony Mrsnik joins ABC Commercial Content Sales to manage International Acquisitions and Business Development

In this role Anthony will work with the Manager of ABC Content Sales (Natalie Lawley), focusing on the acquisition of premium international content for Content Sales, to further develop their new acquisition strategy. Anthony will also work closely with the ABC Commercial Content Acquisitions team, led by Kate McDermott.

Most recently, Anthony has been with Foxtel following Foxtel’s acquisition of the Showtime Australia movie and drama channels. Prior to that, Anthony worked at Showtime Australia as Director, Legal and Business Affairs and has previously worked at the ABC, from 1989 to

1995, as a solicitor. Some of Anthony’s notable achievements include: the rights acquisition, financing and distribution of CLOUDSTREET; each of the renegotiations of Showtime Australia’s Hollywood Studio distribution agreements with Foxtel and Austar, including the launch of the highly successful Showcase channel and negotiation of HBO supply agreements; feature film script assessment and investment structuring for Showtime.

Anthony has also worked for a number of organisations in Legal and Business Affairs roles, including the Grundy Organisation (including as head of Grundy Music Publishing) and Southern Star Entertainment. Anthony has extensive experience in film, television, radio, music, print publishing and digital and across all genres (drama, kids, light entertainment, comedy, news & current affairs, documentary & factual, sport). 

Anthony joined ABC Commercial on 11 July.
