ABC talent big winners in SMH's list of most powerful people in Aussie TV

Patrick Brammall, Sarah Ferguson, Shaun Micallef and Sally Riley all recognised by the Sydney Morning Herald for their contributions to the Australian television industry

Sydney, Australia; Thursday, 24th September 2015: The Sydney Morning Herald today published their 2015 list of ‘Australian TV's most powerful and influential people’, highlighting 30 of Australia’s biggest movers and shakers, with numerous ABC connected talent recognised for their contributions to the industry.

Those who made the cut include Upper Middle Bogan star Patrick Brammall, ABC journalist and the mastermind behind the political exposé The Killing Season Sarah Ferguson, actor, writer and producer Shaun Micallef, who is set to star in the upcoming ABC comedy series The Ex PM and Sally Riley, ABC TV’s Head of Indigenous Television, who helped bring the much loved series Redfern Now and Black Comedy to Australian television screens.

Other names recognised include ABC TV’s Head of Comedy, Rick Kalowski, whose credits include Upper Middle Bogan, The Agony Series and Soul Mates, the ABC’s former Head of Factual Jennifer Collins who is now Head of Non-Fiction at Screentime and helped bring the ABC series Outback E.R. and Stop Laughing: This is Serious to life and television veteran John Edwards, Executive Producer at Endemol Australia and the experienced player who is producing the forthcoming ABC TV series The Beautiful Lie.

Rounding out the list are Essential Media’s Chris Hilton and Ian Collie, the production partnership behind the ABC TV dramas Rake and Jack Irish, along with Matt Campbell, Nick Murray and Michael Cordell from the indie production house Cordell Jigsaw Zapruder, who in tandem with the talented Shaun Micallef, are working to produce the forthcoming comedy series The Ex PM.
