ABC Library Sales helps News Limited celebrate 50 years of The Australian

Australia’s national daily newspaper, The Australian, is celebrating 50 years of publishing this year with a birthday campaign to mark the significant contributions they’ve made over five decades to Australian journalism. ABC Library Sales worked closely with the team at News Limited to source footage and images from the ABC archive for use in the birthday celebrations which began in April. The celebrations include an editorial publishing series that looks back over the events of the last 50 years; a digital recreation of the first edition of the newspaper; a glossy collector’s edition magazine celebrating the last fifty years; and a special immersive and interactive digital birthday hub which features videos, images, cartoons and stories published by The Australian since its launch. The Library Sales team was thrilled help celebrate the important role The Australian has played in reporting over the last fifty years and its ongoing place in Australian history.
