A number of ABC Commercial distributed titles were honoured at last night’s 2016 TV Week Logie Awards, including wins for the critically acclaimed Redfern Now: Promise Me, The Secret River, ABC3’s Ready For This and more.

Deborah Mailman received the Silver Logie for ‘Most Outstanding Actress’ for her role as Lorraine in the telemovie Redfern Now: Promise Me, while Tim Minchin was awarded the Silver Logie for ‘Most Outstanding Supporting Actor’ for his role as Smasher Sullivan in The Secret River.

Hailed by critics and audiences alike during its 2015 ABC TV broadcast, The Secret River was also awarded the Silver Logie for ‘Most Outstanding Miniseries or Telemovie’.

Shaun Micallef accepted the award for ‘Most Outstanding Comedy Program’ for Shaun Micallef's Mad as Hell, with the ‘Most Outstanding Entertainment Program’ awarded to Gruen.

Walkley award-winning journalist Sarah Ferguson collected the honours for ‘Most Outstanding Public Affairs Report’ for her political exposé The Killing Season, which explored the tumultuous demise of the Rudd-Gillard Labor government.

The cast and characters of the iconic ABC KIDS television series Play School also made an impact on the ceremony, with Big Ted, Jemima and company dressed-to-the-nines while walking the red carpet with Play School alumni Eddie Perfect and Benita Collings, to celebrate the program’s 50th anniversary.

Later during the ceremony, presenters Justine Clarke and Simon Burke led the capacity crowd in a sing-along of the memorable Play School theme, before announcing ABC3’s indigenous teen drama series Ready for This as the ‘Most Outstanding Children's Program’ of 2016.

“ABC Commercial would like to congratulate all of the talented and hard-working people who bring these magnificent series to life,” said Jessica Ellis, Head of ABC Video Entertainment & Distribution. “It speaks to the quality of our catalogue that so many great ABC Commercial distributed titles were honoured at last night’s Logies ceremony. We’re thrilled with the result.”
