Tall Tales But True - David Williamson
David Williamson is the best-known and most significant Australian writer of his generation. Since the early 1970s he has enjoyed unprecedented critical and commercial success and a growing international reputation. The key to his creativity seems to lie in his height! He was ridiculed at school and would respond in an aggressive manner, against his better judgment. His plays therefore explore the tension between "our superb intellectual capacity and our primitive emotional capacity". The program includes interviews with Williamson and with actors and directors, plus dramatisations of scenes from his plays.
This program is released for non theatrical use within educational, government and business organisations. Additional payments under a Screenrights licence are not required. Please contact us for Exhibition or Streaming Licences.
