Silence Calling, The

Set in the spectacularly beautiful Antarctica, this film documents how Australia came to lead the world in understanding and conserving this last great wilderness. Australians originally set out 50 years ago to claim territory and resources but ended up protecting Antarctica from exploitation forever.
The history of exploration is told through archival film, while contemporary footage, supported by computer animation, explains how science has changed the way the world looks at Antarctica.
