Schools Spectacular Reunion
Presented by Rolf Harris, this is a documentary special that celebrates the amazing success stories that have emerged from the Schools Spectacular. Over 22 years, tens of thousands of Australian school children have converged in Sydney for the annual Schools Spectacular. In August 2005 a dinner party was held to reunite some of the past participants who have gone on to big things since their school days.
Human Nature's Andrew, Michael, Toby and Phil have come a long way since 1989 when they did their first gig, representing Hurlstone Agricultural High, at the Schools Spectacular. Shannon Brown went on to sing in the Opening Ceremony of the 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and is now touring Europe with the hugely successful The Ten Tenors, while Paulini Curuenavuli achieved fame through Australian Idol John Foreman went on to become Bert Newton's musical director on GMA and later Australian Idol. He now hosts the Schools Spectacular.
The program provides a reminiscent combination of current & early interviews, performances past and present and a round up of the School Spectacular's most memorable performances.
