I Can Change Your Mind About Climate Change
Separated by a generation, and divided by their beliefs, two passionate, intelligent and successful Australians go on a journey of mutual discovery to see if they can change each other's minds about the most divisive issue in Australia today: climate change.
Nick Minchin was a Liberal Senator for South Australia from 1993 until 2011. He served as a Minister in the Howard Government for 10 years, and was a member of Cabinet for 9 years. Anna Rose is co-founder and Chair of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) and is a former Environment Minister’s joint Young Environmentalist of the Year.
It's an adventure that will challenge both their beliefs, while giving the Australian public a much-needed opportunity to think afresh about where they stand on the defining issue of our times: what to do about global warming?
In a unique interactive experience over 2 hours of riveting viewing, a live studio audience follows the journey as our protagonists attempt to change each other's attitudes. At home, and on-line, the national audience joins in, leading to a cliffhanger decision. Have we shifted the national mood? Have we changed people's minds?
Q and A Special
Q and A presenter Tony Jones was joined by Anna Rose, Nick Minchin, mining entrepreneur Clive Palmer, CSIRO Chief Executive Dr Megan Clark and author Rebecca Huntley to discuss the documentary "I Can Change Your Mind About Climate Change" following its screening on the ABC.
Q&A is about democracy in action - on Q&A the audience gets to ask the questions. It doesn't matter who you are, or where you're from - everyone can have a go and take it up to our politicians and opinion makers. Energetic and opinionated - Q&A brings Australia's egalitarian and larrikin spirit into the studio.
