Australian Story - A Measure of Courage
Gold Logie winner and star of 'Sea Patrol' Lisa McCune introduces this Australian Story on two unsung Australian naval heroes. Captain Hec Waller and Ordinary Seaman Teddy Sheean both saw service during the darkest days of the Japanese advance towards Australia during World War II. They were from opposite ends of the naval hierarchy and probably never met. But both distinguished themselves with extraordinary acts of courage under fire. Despite their heroism neither was ever nominated for the Forces' highest accolade, the Victoria Cross. Family members are now asking why, and as they uncover new research, they hope to correct what many see as a great injustice.
