7.30 Report - Lake Eyre Special

For the first time in 35 years Lake Eyre in Central Australia is filled with life giving water. This uniquely Australian ecosystem is reaping many benefits from the flood waters that coursed down the outback rivers to Lake Eyre in South Australia's north east. Tourists flocked to the red centre to witness the rare and spectacular event.
Paul Lockyer's filming expedition to Lake Eyre has resulted in the story of this amazing natural phenomenon being illustrated through powerful images and tales told by the locals.
