Coronavirus and Black Summer documentaries break sales records for ABC Commercial

 

The syndication arm of ABC Commercial has broken its own sales records with the demand for licensing of the recent Four Corners programs Coronavirus and Black Summer - each attracting significant interest from broadcasters around the world, who are searching for trustworthy coverage of major catastrophic events.

It’s likened to a scene from an apocalypse. Empty streets in the city of Wuhan China, overflowing hospitals and an overwhelming sense of fear in a city of 11 million people placed in lockdown. The must-watch documentary charts how the outbreak occurred and investigates whether a cover up by Chinese authorities allowed the virus to spread.

Sales been secured that will allow the documentary to be seen by audiences in Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Spanish LATAM, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Denmark, France, Latvia French Canada, the Middle East, Turkey, Israel and Canada.

Black Summer
The documentary delivers the perspective of survivors of the recent Australian bushfires, through video coverage of their experience. They are the videos that stopped the nation and stunned the world - images from the firegrounds capturing the ferocity of the bushfires. From the cabins of firetrucks driving into the inferno, to families retreating to the beaches as the flames grew ever closer, these stories from the frontlines are both terrifying and awe-inspiring.

CBC (Canada) has added Black Summer to their stable of ABC Commercial-acquired programs. Additional confirmed sales of this incredible program have been signed through Journeyman Pictures (ABC Commercial’s distribution partner in Europe) for broadcast in Sweden, Spain and Hong Kong.
