ABC Commercial reaches exclusive agreement with Blue Ant Media to bring The Street Vet to Canada

ABC Commercial today announced it has reached a new agreement with international producer, distributor, and channel operator, Blue Ant Media, to bring the acclaimed new factual entertainment series The Street Vet to Canada.

The agreement will see The Street Vet (12 x 30’) arrive on Blue Ant Media’s Cottage Life specialty cable channel in April and give the network the exclusive Pay TV, VOD and Catch Up rights to the series in Canada over the next four years.

Selected by Reelscreen as one of the top new series presented at MIPCOM last year, The Street Vet charts the humanitarian exploits of Kwane Stewart, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. As Chief Veterinary Officer for American Humane, Dr Kwane spends his weekends treating the pets of the homeless – from people living on the streets who need help in a crisis, to suburban families doing it tough. Together with his assistant Genesis, the series follows Dr Kwane as he attempts to heal pets and people, one story at a time.

“ABC Commercial is excited to partner with Blue Ant Media to bring this inspiring new factual entertainment series to Canadian audiences,” said Jessica Ellis, Head of Content Sales & Distribution at ABC Commercial. “The Street Vet was one of the hottest new properties at MIPCOM last year and we’re thrilled for what the future holds for the series both in Canada and the international marketplace.”

“Blue Ant Media is delighted to have acquired this beautiful new series that offers compassion and hope to the vulnerable and their beloved pets,” said Andrea Harrick, Director of Acquisitions at Blue Ant Media. "Dr Kwane is a standout talent and we’re confident his inspiring outlook on the world will see The Street Vet well received by Canadian families.”

A co-production between Blizzard Road Productions and Vizion House Productions, The Street Vet was filmed in major cities throughout California, including Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco and was Executive Produced by Ray Pedretti. The series is due to premiere on Cottage Life later this April – with further broadcast announcements to come.
